Happy New Year...

So we had a good one...
We stayed in the village, got drunk at the manor, there was a big party on 300 (levels are named 100, 200, 300 and so on...we're in 800) which was a long way from us and we kept our door locked so the party didn't end up in our rooms...
Fireworks in the village and lots of them, i took a bunch of photos but they're mostly crap as I was drunk...
Had to work new years day...EVERYBODY was hungover, i fell asleep in the hut...wasn't caught thankfully...
Since then we had a road trip to Calgary in Laura's van...8 of us went along, we got a hotel room for the night, got drunk and then went to the strippers...which was interesting...then had a day of shopping in a huge mall topped off by a visit to the infamous Hooters restaurant which was a complete let down...out of everything we wanted to eat and our waitress had no hooters! We then paid a visit to Calgary Ikea to buy all the crap that we really don't need but looks good anyway...Had a bit of fun and got the hell out of here which was good...erm...we're only getting one day off at the moment as it is school holidays but they are finishing soon which is good...i think i prefer it being unbusy, it means we get a 2 day weekend and lots more ride breaks...Getting heaps better at riding which is cool. the hill is pretty icy at the moment but I've got enough confidence to be able to do turns coming down the black runs. Still stacking it but mostly due to hitting the ice and losing my edge...i think learning at Nakiska is going to be good as here would have to be the worst conditions for board riding at times...I'll be hitting Chaos within no time...ha ha...chaos is the biggest jump in the large snowboard park. it's actually the source of much contention. 2 of the cat drivers who build the park and groom the hills actually quit recently due to the new regulations placed upon them by RCR (my employer). Apparently last year Chaos was to be 50ft but they snuck it somehow and made it 65ft from jump to landing...insane...this year it's about 35-40ft...everybody is a bit pissed off around here as it was some kind of badge of honour if you hit chaos and walked to tell the tale...now most of the guys have already hit it and it has the nickname of 'gayos'...
Yesterday i got to drive a skidoo! I was getting a ride to the bottom of Gold and complained that my hands were cold and he took me up most of the way then on a flatter bit stopped it got off and told me to move up...he he! it was fun...but wierd...i don't like how you have to lean so much...they tip if you don't but driving and leaning is hard...
We were on wind watch again today...i think the meter is in miles per hour at the top...the highest i saw it get today was 56mph which is 90 kph...kinda scary when yr walking around with a shovel...i nearly got knocked over a couple of times...just tend to hide in the lift hut when it's that strong...means we have to slow it right down and watch that the chairs (or people's skis/boards) aren't hitting the towers...
I WANT MAIL! send me mail to my PO box...
