Contacting us.

Marika and I will no longer be contactable on my Australian mobile number as it will soon no longer exist.
Well, i'm sure the number will exist...I mean I doubt that the customer care guy really has that much power.
Anyway i'm sure you follow.
In summing up,
+61403766133=Bad/wrong/incorrect/sad.
+17789906520=current.
Telecommunications here in Canada are stuck in the dark ages, so not only will it cost you a lot to call us but it also costs US an arm and a leg too. Everyone's happy! International SMS's should work and at this stage I think we have about a 50% success rate.
Please stay tuned for another proper blog entry soon with bells and whistles and pictures and fun.
Missing you all.

Decisions, decisions...

Well, since our last post which was almost a month ago...Can't believe we've been here that long!
We're still enjoying a hood, found an awesome coffee place that won best coffee in Vancouver after being open for only 3 days...Ben you'd love it...
The house has been a little bit of a nightmare...Never knew bedbugs were real! Oh boy are they...We've had the exterminators in to get rid of them but at the height of biteyness I had 21 bites on my right foot and leg, 19 on the other, 16 on my right arm and hand and 21 on the other!!! I was seriously going insane with itchiness...and paranoia...oh my god! I warn you...I thought it was a bit of a strange splatter paint job on the bed head but didn't think twice...check for bedbugs before staying anywhere!

So, Khan and I have been working hhhhhaaarrrddd...
I managed to score a contract through a guy Matt put me in contact with that is content migration for a government website...It's massive and I dragged Khan on the job cos he didn't wanna be carting trash around for $10 an hour...we've been putting in a lot of time (no days off until today for over 2 weeks!).
Great thing is that as it's a contract we pay our own taxes, which ahem, we're going to do, ahem eventually...and we get to work at home.
We have to work out how long this job is going to go for, the deadline is November 31 but I envision it going waaayyy longer than that...February even...this means if the date is pushed out, we can either drop the job and go work on the hill at Nakiska like we first planned, or continue to do the job, move to Whistler, get a season pass and work 4 days a week remotely and board the other 3 days.
Sounds awesome huh? Well fingers crossed number 2 is a viable option...We should find out this week and I've learnt not to count my chickens...
There is also the option of doing that by paying our rent for the next 6 months up front so even if the contract finishes we don't have to worry...just get a lifty job or do something else around Whistletown...

Other things,
Saw Bonde de Role who were awesome and lotsa fun...Ben and Bink I think you'd like 'em...Favela kinda stuff influenced by a lotta rock...
Thanks heaps Mitchell for getting us on the door at the Juggs/Justice gig, it was Ffffuun! MIA, Aesop Rock and Ted Leo all coming up soon...Yay live music!
Congrats to Suze and Dave who are tying the knot in November!
