I love our new couch...it's awesomely comfy...It came with our rocking new place which I am also in love with.
Could be the beautiful huge trees and deer in the backyard, the stainless steel applianced kitchen with a gas stove, yes gas stove...yayyyyy...when we first moved in it was a bit weird, the place just feels too good for us, like one of those holiday apartments that you rent for a week with all the nice stuff you'd never be able to kit yr own home out with, but yes, it's our little home for the next 5 or so wintry months, 5 minutes from Fernie in the bush. We live above a garage in a kind of granny flat with a family who lives in the adjoining house. Nice people, Put some pics below...
Boom, there goes another bomb...They've been avalanche blasting the hill for the last few days. Kind of crazy to think we're in avalanche country here, I was thinking about getting stuck in an avalanche last night, which way do you dig, what if you can't move, under tons of snow and ice, I think it maybe an idea to go to a class they run regularly on avalanche safety...
So in true Fernie style it snowed 50-60cms then poured rain the next 2 days which means everything is slushy...gonna be crazy when it gets cold again, ice rinks everywhere, even walking around town is a danger, the you think yr putting yr foot somewhere ok but it's actually the ice you can't see, whoop!
Anyways, I have a cold, I think because all the stress has stopped, got a house, the start of the season is just around the corner, the work seems to be coming soon...Oh yeh, we're not going to be lifties this season. We went to the first day of training, remembered how shit it was and how cold you get and the fact that we'd be impinging on the time that we could be earning 3 times as much working inside and boarding whenever we feel like it so we decided to give it the flick. Only problem is now we actually have to PAY for our season passes...bummer...call us lazy but I'd prefer to be called a ski bum...heh, if the opportunity presents itself why not leap at it?
