Hi
Well, I thought I'd better write something on here as we don't seem to write much on this blog anymore...suppose it's because we haven't been doing too much and to keep on telling people that all you are doing is working and snowboarding every week is a little dull...

The season is winding down, there's only 2 weeks left! The melt is happening...Boo hoooo! because of this, we have been doing a couple of road trips. trying to strike things off the list we made of things to do whilst in Fernie...

Last week was Kicking Horse, the resort I couldn't stop raving about last time we were here...Well things have changed, it seems Kicking Horse, (maybe through their gorgeous branding and awesome, consistent marketing materials) has become popular...2 years ago we were basically the only people around, this time everything was tracked out so quickly making a lot of their advanced and pee yr pants terrain inaccessible due to sketchy ice and believe it or not rocks! My poor board got the most scratches this season at ol Kicking Horse and my love has drifted back to my new and well endowed lover, Fernie.

We were supposed to be there for 3 days but ended up leaving early opting for another day at Panorama which was marginal to say the least...Ice, ice, ice, even the Sun bowl wouldn't soften up!

Fernie, Fernie, Fernie my love...

I've been looking at house prices here...they're pretty ridiculous as you'd imagine...apparently 5 years ago was the time to buy in Fernie...now they sell those mobile home type deals on a tiny patch of land for $300k...bummm...

Anyway, this week we went to visit the kids at Nakiska. Valeria is leaving the country in 2 weeks so we thought we'd go say see ya soon and stayed with Bryan at his place. Nakiska oh Nakiska, the snow was pretty good, I mean the boys know how to groom, that's what makes Nakiska bareable...wasn't as strange being back there this time...maybe I was a little more relaxed about it, but I'm still glad we never made it back there...Another thing is I don't think I could cope with the constant battle on my body with alcohol...Now why is it that I always forget about the beer before liquor, never sicker thing...And whyyyyyy with a long island iced tea that was apparently a double or maybe triple??? Next day was spent on the lounge recovering between spontaneous sprints to the bathroom...not fun...

So this week we have a new adventure, a place we've never been...Whitefish Montana, yes it's another resort but it's in a different country! Wow, that means we'll have snowboarded in 4 different countries on 3 continents...I like figures like that...what can I say, I'm a nerd...oh and whilst I'm at it...total snowfall for Fernie as at today 1040cm...yes, that's almost 10 and a half metres! Accumulation is still at 362cm at mid mountain...and they're closing in 2 weeks!?! Buuuutttt they're keeping Lake Louise open another 3 weeks when they've had marginal conditions all season...RCR is soooo DUMB!!!

Anyway, I bought a camera on eBay yesterday, the Canon G9, getting it delivered to our hotel in Montana to save on taxes and stuff...can't wait to get my paws on it...let's hope all goes as planned...

What else has been happening...well as I said before, any chance we can get, working...We're so desperate to get this website finished, it's gone beyond a joke...I've had some fun stuff on the side for Belinda and James who've just opened up an alternative fashion boutique in Port Macquarie...go check it out if yr in town...the logo is my handiwork as is the shop front and all the other printed materials...

We've been trying to work out what's next...something may've come up to go to Niseko, Japan but I don't want to count my chickens before they've hatched...Toyed with the idea of going to South America whilst we're on the same continent maybe getting TESOL qualifications to allow us to pick up work wherever...going to Asia or India...we don't have to be back in Aus until Milly, Khan's sister gets married, altho I think Khan may want to be back in Aus for the birth of his first niece/nephew in a few months...

Whilst we have the car, we've also thought about doing some road tripping around the states but like everything, it takes money and although we've almost paid all of our credit cards off, we don't know how much more money will be coming in for how long so it's difficult to make decisions...we also don't have tickets back to Aus anymore...any suggestions on cheap travel would be greatly appreciated...

So things coming up over the next few weeks whilst still in Ferndizzle...Well our list has a local brewery tour, X-country ski tour ending with a gourmet lunch and spa treatment, snowshoeing tour and teach Khan to ski day as we get a free day of ski hire with our season pass...Some fun to be had...

Till next time when some decisions may have been made and we have some more news for you...Farewell

Photos: fernie fun, the wombat we carved out of the snow fallen on our outside table, Windy, rocky Castle Mountain, Feuz Bowl @ Kicking Horse, Val & Khan, Macca and Cals in their new one piece suits, Nakiska rocks...?, Panorama of Fernie from the hill..prolly need to look at the big version of this...
