temp weather app

About the project

This was a fun little project I undertook through Skillshare to learn more about designing for apps. The basic concept was to design a weather app.

There were a couple of problems I wanted to solve with my design. Firstly, at the time, I was riding my bike to work everyday and didn’t care what the actual temperature was but wanted to know what temperature it felt like outside or if I was going to get wet with a quick glance. One way I solved this was to make the colour of the display change depending on the temperature.

Secondly, Australian weather apps have way too much information in their interfaces for the average person. I just want to know the basics that are going to affect me in 10 minutes or 10 hours not what the humidity is or the current tidal level. I decided the design needed to be minimalist and keep the information to the bare necessities.
